Magnesium

Magnesium is essential for life. Magnesium chloride, which crystallized 250 million years ago from the ancient Zechstein Sea, is a tremendous natural health treasure that we should cherish for its many benefits. We all still carry the ancient inner sea within us in the form of the fluid that surrounds our cells.

Magnesium is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. It helps maintain normal nerve and muscle function, supports a healthy immune system, keeps the heartbeat steady, and helps keep bones strong. It also aids in regulating blood sugar levels. Source: MHI

Magnesium is known as the mineral of ‘inner peace’ and also as the ‘power mineral.’ No other vital substance helps us withstand stress and soothes our nervous system while also giving us endurance and energy. Magnesium is considered an essential mineral because the body cannot produce it on its own. An adequate daily intake of magnesium is a necessary condition for a vital and healthy life. Balneology

Many people are familiar with the healing properties of saunas, which are often used for detoxification and general well-being. This “balneology” is the oldest form of skin therapy that involves the use of baths for health and wellness.

Benefits of external magnesium application:

    • Free from absorption issues in the gastrointestinal tract
    • Dosage can be adjusted to individual needs
    • Provides immediate relief for muscle cramps
    • Free from side effects such as diarrhea
    • Faster effectiveness
    • Targeted application to problem areas is possible
    • Does not need to be ingested
  • Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for Magnesium The officially recommended daily amount of magnesium is around 300 to 400 mg. The RDA guidelines are based on values that are absolutely essential to prevent a deficiency. However, according to scientific research, these recommended amounts may be insufficient for maintaining optimal health and performance, especially in the case of athletes. Many experts therefore advocate increasing the RDA for magnesium to 6 to 8 mg per kilogram of body weight, which corresponds to a daily dose of 400 to 1,000 mg of pure magnesium, depending on body weight.

  • Magnesium is offered as magnesium salts in the form of magnesium chloride, magnesium citrate, magnesium orotate, magnesium sulfate, and the like. When dosing, it is important to note that the recommended daily amount refers to the pure magnesium content and not to the weight of the magnesium salts. Source: Dr. Barbara Hendel

Zechstein Magnesiumolie

Zechstein magnesium oil should only be applied topically for rapid absorption of magnesium into the skin. Make sure the skin is clean before use, avoid application on the face, and be cautious of eye contact, as this may cause irritation. Tip: spray into your hand and apply it to your skin, allowing it to work for at least 10 minutes.

Zechstein bath flakes

Zechstein bath flakes can be used in a bath for a fully relaxing experience and complete whole-body absorption. Tip: use a few cups up to 4 kilograms of flakes (for intensive applications in a full bath) in your warm (not hot) bath and enjoy for a maximum of 20 minutes. An alternative is a footbath. Use 5 liters of water with 200–500 grams of flakes for at least 20 minutes. The feet should be fully submerged up to the ankles.

Zechstein gel

Zechstein gel helps to hydrate your skin. Take the time to massage it onto clean skin for at least 15 minutes. It does not fully absorb, so rinse it off after use.

  • Natural Build-Up

It takes some time before you notice results from use, as the body needs time to recover at the cellular level. Therefore, you can start at a modest level and build it up with daily use over the course of 3 months. From the point of recovery, how you continue to use it to maintain your health depends on your individual situation.

Please note that this guideline is general advice, as magnesium needs vary from person to person—just as the effects of magnesium use can differ. In general, a daily intake of about 300–400 mg of magnesium is needed to maintain balance in a body with normal activity and a healthy baseline. Source: Dr. Barbara Hendel
